Oliver HartwichEXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, THE NEW ZEALAND INITIATIVE Oliver Hartwich is the Executive Director of The New Zealand Initiative, a public policy think tank that focuses on introducing new ideas into public debates, recently publishing reports including 'Blowing the Whistle on the Commerce Commission', and 'Should Our Regulators Have a New Watchdog Too?'While working for think tanks in Britain, several of Oliver's proposals were implemented by government, while others caused controversy - "One has even gained me a personal recommendation from David Cameron to leave Britain for Australia rather sooner than later (which I do not regret)," he says. Oliver has also become one of New Zealand's leading political and economic commentators. |

Kirsten PattersonCHIEF EXECUTIVE, INSTITUTE OF DIRECTORS (IOD) As well as leading the IOD, Kirsten Patterson is a qualified lawyer and Chartered Fellow of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand.Kirsten is a strong advocate on diversity issues, and is Chair of the Wellington Homeless Women's Trust, and a Trustee and Director of the NZ Rugby Foundation. At the conference, Kirsten will address the topic of 'conduct and culture', having recently placed it top of the list when identifying the top five risks facing directors in 2019. |

Sam JohnsonFOUNDER OF THE STUDENT VOLUNTEER ARMY (SVA) 2012's Young New Zealander of the Year, Sam Johnson founded the SVA after the Christchurch earthquakes, and is now also a member of Westpac Bank Sustainability Panel and an Adjunct Fellow in the School of Education and Leadership at the University of Canterbury.The SVA Foundation engages over 50,000 people in their programs each year across New Zealand focused on volunteerism, guardianship and mentoring. Sam is keen to share how "Dream it. Plan it. Do it!" can be applied to the financial services industry. |
