David Farrar, KiwiBlog Editor and Curia Market Research Director

A commentator who isn't afraid to ruffle a few feathers, David will set the scene for the day, sharing musings on the current political climate in the wake of COVID-19, and an Election looming just around the corner.
David Farrar is the owner and director of Curia Market Research which he founded in 2004, a specialist opinion polling and research agency. David is also well known as the editor of the popular Kiwiblog which started in 2003, and previously worked in the NZ Parliament for eight years, serving two National Party Prime Ministers and three Opposition Leaders. In 2013 he co-founded the New Zealand Taxpayers' Union and serves on its board."



Diane Tate, CEO of the Australian Finance Industry Association (AFIA)

How are finance and leasing companies faring across the Tasman in the wake of COVID-19, what actions have their regulators taken during this time, and what are they preparing for? Prior to joining AFIA in 2019, Diane held various senior executive roles at the Australian Banking Association, including Deputy CEO, where she led the industry through the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, and has also worked in the Federal Government, AUSTRAC, ASIC and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).



Richard Bostock (PhD) Senior Policy Advisor: Finance and Leasing Association (FLA), UK

How are finance and leasing companies faring in the UK in the wake of COVID-19, what actions have their regulators taken during this time, and what are they preparing for?

Richard Bostock is a Senior Policy Advisor for the FLA, specialising in fraud related issues within consumer credit; anti-money laundering; insurance and a number of other key issues for the consumer credit industry. He is also on the Board of the UK's Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG). Prior to joining the FLA Richard worked at both the FSA and the OFT. This included working on the regulation of a whole range of financial and business services.


Lance Burdett

Lance Burdett is the NZ Police's former national advisor for the negotiation teams, has qualified as a crisis negotiator for the FBI, and run numerous high-risk negotiations including the Napier Siege and Paramore prison hostage situation. Lance will share what he has learned during these high-stress situations of crisis management, and the tools he has needed to develop regarding work/life balance, burnout and stress management, resilience, leadership, and reducing worry in your life. Things we could all do with coming out of a pandemic, with a lot of uncertainty remaining. We will also hear from Lance's fair collection of fascinating work stories.
